What is microneedling?
Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, uses a medical device with very fine, sterile needles to create tiny, controlled channels in the skin. Your skin responds by doing what it does best: healing itself and building new collagen and elastin.
Over the following weeks, skin becomes firmer, smoother and more refined. Because microneedling doesn’t rely on heat, it suits a wide range of skin types and tones.

Your treatment, step by step
1. Consultation
We talk through your skin concerns, review your health history and skincare routine, and decide whether microneedling is right for you.
2. Treatment
Your skin is cleansed and numbing cream is applied. The device then glides over your skin in gentle passes. Plan for about 30 to 60 minutes in total.
3. Healing and results
Expect redness like a mild sunburn for a day or two. Collagen keeps building for weeks, so your skin continues to improve after each session.
Preparing for and caring after your treatment
In the days before
- Pause retinoids and exfoliating acids for 3 to 5 days
- Avoid sunburn, tanning and waxing in the treatment area
- Let us know if you have a cold sore, active breakout or skin infection, as we may need to reschedule
After your treatment
- Skip makeup for the first 24 hours
- Avoid sweaty workouts, saunas, hot tubs and swimming for 24 to 48 hours
- Use only gentle, recommended products and hold off on actives for a few days
- Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and limit sun exposure
- Let any light flaking come away on its own

Does microneedling hurt?
We apply numbing cream before treatment, so most people feel only light pressure or a mild scratching sensation.
How long does a session take?
Plan for about 30 to 60 minutes, including time for the numbing cream to work.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people see the best results from a series of 3 to 6 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. We will recommend a plan based on your skin and goals.
What is the downtime?
Expect redness and mild sensitivity, like a light sunburn, for 1 to 3 days. Some people notice light flaking. Most return to their usual routine within a day or two.
When will I see results?
Many people notice a healthy glow within a week. Collagen keeps building for several weeks after each session, so results continue to improve over the course of your series.
Can microneedling help with acne scars?
Yes. Softening acne scars is one of the most common reasons people choose microneedling. Deeper scars usually need a series of treatments, sometimes combined with other therapies.
Can it be combined with other treatments?

Who should not have microneedling?
Microneedling isn’t recommended during an active acne breakout, cold sore or skin infection in the treatment area, during pregnancy, or within 6 months of taking isotretinoin. We review your full health history at your consultation.
How far ahead of an event should I book?
Book at least 1 to 2 weeks before a big event so redness has time to settle. For your best skin on the day, start a series a few months ahead.
